Hi, I'm Sandra Szilva, founder of Let's Help the Children, a foundation to help parents and children in abuse situations. I am a mother of three children (one passed away from illness at age three) and I was a wife...with an abusive husband. I know how hard it is to take that first step towards getting out. I started this foundation for parents and children to be able to have a safe and secure place to stay until they can get back up on their feet again and take charge of their lives. The goal of my foundation is to help parents and children in abusive situations to take that crucial first step to a better life.

I am a 35 yr old part-time Title Agent and part-time stay at home Dad of 2 amazing children…my daughter, Ryan is 5 yrs old and my son, Tyler is 2yrs old. I have been married to my wonderful wife, Tracy, who is a recruiter for 7 yrs. They are ALL, without question, the LIGHT of my life!!! I am also a life-long resident of NJ and the shore area graduating from Ocean Twp HS in 1990 and West Chester University in Pennsylvania in 1995. I LOVE to spend time with my family who also still all live in the area as well…mother, Mary, father, Artie and brothers, Blaine and Nick. I also enjoy golf, attending sporting events, and relaxing (if ever possible!).
I am very excited to be a part of Lets Help the Children, as I believe that it is very important that our children have more positive role models and better interaction with adults. Whether we realize it or not, we can be extremely impactful on a child and help shape their lives every day. I believe that being associated with organizations like this as well as active in our local communities is essential…and can often be very self gratifying as well! I am very much looking forward to working with the youth of today and doing my part…

Hi, I am a 57 year old dentist in Freehold, NJ, 07728 who has been lucky enough to have two fine children. We have not experienced any of these abuse situations. I have observed both professionally and personally many of these situations and have made myself available to give any help and guidance I can. I work on children and adults of all ages and can only imagine the psychological and physical trauma experienced by these children. I hope I can be of some help.

Website Programmer

Hi, I'm Ray. After graduating from Drew, I entered the Jurassic Age of computers, when room-sized IBM mainframes dominated the world and were programmed in ancient languages called COBOL and Fortran. In 1981, I was bitten by the "home computer bug" and soldered together my own from a Heathkit, making me the first resident of Vineland, NJ to actually have (or want ?) a working computer in the house!

Later, I worked on minicomputers from companies like DEC, Data General, Wang, Olivetti, and Unisys. All are now defunct, but I live on. I ended up working at MCI doing Data Communications development. The "dot-com" bubble burst, Worldcom bought MCI, declared bankrupcy, and executives went to jail. Luckily, I just got laid-off ...

After my long career in the corporate IT world, it was time for me to start something new. All the excitement at the time was about the Internet, so I learned website design and programming, and established a consulting company, specializing in Content Management Systems.

I am very proud of my two children. Liz completed two Master's degrees and now lives and works in Boston. Jeff is a computer programmer, living and working in NYC. I live in Monroe where I am surrounded by my books (Barnes & Noble does my decorating) and computers. I try to avoid anything "Microsoft", and prefer Linux.
